In 1977, inspired by his parishioners Pastor James H. Fresh began to dream about a community of people, vibrant in their mature years, social, busy, and full of life. He envisioned a place where residents and team members embraced a wellness approach to body, mind, and spirit. A family that supported and lifted each other up in times of need.

Jeff Gorddard
Chief Executive Officer & President
Jeff Gorddard received his MBA from Dowling College after graduating from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He started in healthcare operations at Tampa’s Town and Country Hospital as Assistant Administrator. He then went on to be CEO of a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital, Assistant Executive Director of Gulf Coast Village, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Cape Coral, Florida, and later, Regional VP of Behavioral Health Hospitals in Florida, Ohio, Louisiana, and Texas. Jeff lives in Palm Harbor with wife, Beth, and two daughters, Danielle and Jenna.
Randall Rees
VP of Healthcare Services
Randall Rees is a born and raised Floridian, originally from Daytona Beach. He attended Florida State University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Central Florida for his MBA, where he focused on Health Care Administration. Randall began his career in acute care hospitals, but quickly found his passion in enriching the quality of life for Seniors. Since then, he has had 10 years of experience operating skilled nursing facilities and short-term rehabilitation facilities here in Florida. Randall is excited to bring his passion for an enhanced quality of life to our family here at St. Mark Village as our Healthcare Administrator. He and his wife Jennifer are both excited to now call the Palm Harbor area home.
Christine Greenawalt
Director of Nursing
Christine Greenawalt graduated from Reading Hospital School of Nursing 41 years ago. Her first role as Director of Nursing in long-term care began in 1997 at a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Since then, she has consistently held leadership positions in long-term care, gaining diverse experiences across various environments and regions. She has two children— son, Ryan, lives in Tampa, and daughter, Alyssa, resides in Atlanta, and she also has three grandchildren. She loves spending time on the water, enjoying moments with friends and family, and most of all spoiling the grandkids.
Deena Mason
Care Center Social Services Director
Deena Mason holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Gerontology from the University of Maryland. From an early age, Deena has been passionate about helping the elderly and their families. Early in her career, she worked at Johns Hopkins Home Health in Baltimore, MD, where she played a key role in launching the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
After focusing on her family and enjoying the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom to her three children—Bradley, Hannah, and Austin—Deena returned to the workforce as her youngest prepared for college. She has been married for 33 years and has been a resident of Palm Harbor for the past 8 years.
Monice Cannell
Clinical Services Manager
Monice Cannell is our dedicated and compassionate Clinical Services Manager. She is committed to providing exceptional care while fostering a supportive and empathetic environment. Monice has been at St. Mark Village since 2007. She brings a strong clinical skill set combined with a deep understanding of resident needs.
Monice is passionate about improving resident health and well-being, while advocating for healthcare equality. She is continuously expanding her knowledge through continuing education. Whether working in high-pressure situations or delivering day-to-day care, she strives to make a positive impact on every resident’s journey.
Victor Piperata
Administrator at Highland Lakes Assisted Living
Victor Piperata is a seasoned professional in senior living with nearly 25 years of dedicated experience. A licensed nursing home administrator, he has committed his career to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. Born and raised in Utica, New York, Victor pursued his passion for healthcare by earning a master’s degree from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. He currently resides in Clearwater with his wife, Katie, and their daughter, Olivia. Together, they enjoy exploring the local community and embracing the vibrant culture of their Florida home. His passion for improving the quality of life for seniors, combined with his leadership and dedication, has made him a respected advocate in the industry.
Karey Whitfield
Life Enrichment Coordinator at Highland Lakes Assisted Living
Karey Whitfield is our Life Enrichment Coordinator at Highland Lakes Assisted Living. Karey has a background in marketing, along with years of experience in wedding planning, coaching basketball, and a great passion to entertain and educate herself and others. This led her to a natural progression to the Life Enrichment role for senior adults. She and her husband, Travis, have 2 amazing daughters, Audrey and Sadie, and 2 granddaughters, Kayleigh and Lylah. Karey is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, loves the beach, lazy Sundays watching her Bengals team, and spending time in her craft room just being creative. Karey’s enthusiasm and fun-loving energy are an amazing addition to the Life Enrichment Team at Highland Lakes Assisted Living.
